We happily serve the Richmond & Hampton Roads area.
This is an amazing time and one that should be embraced and cherished. It's also a time for many decisions. We are happy to guide you through this process and offer all the information needed. It's never our goal to talk someone into a homebirth, instead we offer a free private consultation to talk about the homebirth choice and answer any of your questions.
Williamsburg Homebirth is a traditional midwifery practice of two partner midwives. Our practice offers complete and affordable care throughout your pregnancy, birth, and postpartum period. We offer waterbirth for no additional fee and VBAC/HBAC clients are welcome. We have convenient daytime and evening hours, as well some some weekend appointments so you can save your leave time from work for when it really matters - after baby arrives!
Your care will be personalized to you. Over the course of your pregnancy we'll get to learn more about each other and build the level of trust and friendship necessary for a peaceful birth.
Every study that has compared midwives and obstetricians has found better outcomes for midwives for same-risk patients. In some studies, midwives actually served higher risk populations than the physicians and still obtained lower mortalities and morbidities. The superiority and safety of midwifery for most women no longer needs to be proven. It has been well established. Glimpse of a homebirth, the newborn exam...
The newborn exam is done in your presence and usually on your bed. We're happy to answer any questions you have about your newborn baby. As always, this is done gently and with great respect given to the incredible transition your baby has just made! View more photos taken by birth photographer, Robyn Nicole Lee.
"Bridget is a wonderful midwife... She always has a smile on her face and is very personable. She always made me feel like I was welcome to chat with her or question her about whatever I was concerned about. I cannot say enough wonderful things about her." - Jennifer K.

We are very close to the Williamsburg library and easy to find! The office is located in a green home with a front porch swing. Please come on in and make yourself at home in the reception area with a cup of tea. The bathroom is up the steps.
Parking: There is free on-street parking and a parking garage located directly behind our office (N. Henry Street). We are near many shops, including a used bookstore, and a lot of our clients choose to linger in the area after their appointments.
